Yes, school is almost over and I'm finally just blogging about it beginning. ha ha. My thoughts have changed by now :).
Hallie was SO excited to begin school. I think I was more nervous than her. With my education background, teaching experience and many other things, I hadn't really envisioned my kids in the type of school setting they are going to be in. I did not like the idea of full day kindergarten. I was pretty nervous about it. And to be honest, was pretty sad to have my little Hallie leave me all day long! She's my little buddy. And the thought of her being in the school environment more than around me made me nervous. I didn't feel like she was old enough yet! But that's life right?
She has an amazing teacher, who we absolutely love and is perfect for Hallie. The first day I dropped her off, and yes, of course I cried :), I thought about her all day, wondering if she was ok, how her day was going, what she was doing, etc. Well, my worry was gone when I arrived to pick her up. She came out holding hands with a little girl and said, "Hi mom! This is my new friend Samya!". Then on the way home (which is seriously, less than 2 minutes), she told me about 5 times that she LOVED kindergarten! She was so sad every Saturday and Sunday that she didn't get to go to school.
I'm so proud of my little Hallie. She always just plugs along and adapts to any situation with a positive attitude and smile on her face. We read the Kissing Hand the night before and she was pretty excited to have a kissing hand of her own from me throughout the day. She said, "Mom, I used my kissing hand a couple times." (I drew a heart on her hand). She is awesome. Grandma Robin took her school shopping and Hallie picked out this dress. She loves wearing "Grandma Robin's dress".
