{ CATCH UP! }

Who really cares about what we did in November, December and January? Probably nobody. But I have to catch up because I use my blog to make our family journal books. And if I don't catch up now, there's no flippin way I'll do it after Baby comes. I can't believe he'll be here so soon! We are so excited!!! There's no plan to induce, so who knows when this little guy will decide to come. Maybe tomorrow :). Hopefully soon because I think my cankles are going to explode :). ha ha. Here's what we were up to in November. December to come soon.

{ FIRST THANKSGIVING ATTEMPT }

Since Aaron and I have been married, we have either been home in UT for Thanksgiving, had it with friends (which means dividing the cooking up), or going out to eat at the Iowa Powerhouse Restaurant. Well...this year was my first true test! Aaron's dad had been wanting to come for a visit for awhile now and so we just had a small "low key" Thanksgiving this year. If you know me well, you know that I didn't inherit my Mom's wonderful cooking skills and abilities (I'm slowly learning). So to say I was a little worried wouldn't be lying. Aaron said he'd cook the turkey because I was not about to stick my hand up a turkey's butt. Especially when I wouldn't even be eating it (I'm a vegetarian). Well...after many phone calls of questions to my mom...I must say, it turned out pretty good.

We did have a good laugh though. I had the oven cooking schedule planned out perfectly so all the food would be hot and ready in schedule with the turkey being done. Well....Aaron pulls the turkey out and it is nowhere near done! Turns out, he forgot to read the small detail that said, "cook 45-60 minutes PER POUND". Forgot that the turkey may be a little more than 1 pound :). ha ha. We had a good laugh. I was just so thankful that it wasn't me that made the mistake. So...we waited for the turkey to be done, heated up the rest of our food and still had a delicious meal!
Hallie LOVES holidays. This is how she set the table. We each got a pony at our spot, she made each of us a name tag with leaves she picked from our walk, and displayed her spice rack she had made at Home Depot. I love this girl.

Aaron and I had a big debate about whether our goblets were glass or plastic. Well...I'll let you be the judge. Looks like I won that debate sweetie!

The most exciting part of the day...BLACK FRIDAY ADS! I didn't get a chance to look at them until night time. And these little chickas wanted to be right in the action with me. They were climbing all over me!

Hallie is just as into the ads and shopping as I am. I love it. Every Sunday, she gets our paper and a pen or stickers and marks everything she likes or thinks is a good deal. Then she cuts it out and hangs it on the fridge. It's so funny. She was in heaven when she saw how big the Toys R' Us add was! ha ha. If I wasn't doing most of the shopping for her and Peyton, I would've totally woken her up to go with me. She would have loved it.

Over the break we went down to the River Walk so Aaron's dad could see the Alamo and all that jazz and I could meet up with my bestest friend Lindsey who was in Austin for the holidays. Oh how I love that girl! We are quite comical when we get together and it involves driving and directions. I don't even know where to begin in explaining our visit. So I will just say it was great! I love that girl!

Sounds like Aaron, his dad, and the girls had quite the time too. We had picked the girls up from a Princess Birthday Party and had them change in the car on the way downtown. Well...me being a wonderful mother, totally forgot shoes! So they wore their plastic high heeled princess shoes all over the riverwalk and Alamo. A worker at the Alamo told Aaron that the girls would need to leave because their shoes were too loud! ha ha. I guess they found some fountains that Peyton decided to get into also and was drenched. They had a blast.

We had fun making smores too.

{ DANCING GIRLS }

I don't know if I ever mentioned that Peyton's little attempt to join Hallie's dance class (read here) actually worked and Nanci was nice enough to give her a spot in the class. She was thrilled! Everyday she'd ask, "We goin to dance cwass today?" I'd say, "No, not today." "Wex week?" (next week). Hallie thought it was so fun to have her in the class and she played the "big sister" role quite well. They were so cute. I love the difference in my girls. Hallie is such a serious little dancer and so concentrated on doing everything just perfect. Peyton is just happy with her tongue out and beating to her own drum.

I love my girls!

Here's some video (Thanks to Brittanie! I'm too lazy to download mine :))

{ PRESCHOOL POW WOW }

Before Thanksgiving Break, Hallie's preschool had a PowWow for the parents. They learned about Native Americans and did alot of fun things with it. Hallie had a blast! Although no matter how many times I've tried to tell her, she insists that it's "Native Camericans". They got to make up their own Native American name and one by one got up to the microphone to introduce themselves. She has come along way with her shyness. I was so proud of her. She was so excited to do this. "My name is Hallie. I live in Texas and my Native Camerican name is Dancing Dog."

{ GOIN TO THE ZOO }

We love the not so hot weather and took advantage by going to the zoo. The girls LOVE coming here. They like to  take paper and crayons with them to color a picture of every animal they see. Hallie likes to draw what they like to eat too.

{ LAST SOCCER GAME }

Hallie finished up her last soccer game. Too bad it was FREEZING (for TX)! I felt so bad for them. They had a good time though. Hallie got a trophy that she was really excited about.

Do you think Peyton enjoyed getting a cupcake too?

{ AIR SHOW }

We headed to the Lackland Airforce Base for their yearly Air Show they put on. Once we actually got into the event (it took about 2 hours of driving, parking, walking and waiting in the security line) we had a good time. I laughed at how warm I dressed us all. By the time we left, we were all dying of heat :). oops.

waiting patiently in line

Peyton was so funny. She wanted a hard surface to color on while we waited in line. She just plopped herself on the pavement and would get up and move with the line and plop right by down.

We finally got in! They had some really cool planes you could walk through and see all the different types.

It was a long day, but we had a good time :).

January 8, 2011

Wow! I am so behind. I love that my last post was a goodbye to Trauma and we are already back at it again. Fun Fun! Well, the goodbye was fun while it lasted. Lots has happened, much to say...but life is CRAZY! So hopefully I will find time soon to blog about it all. And hopefully before this little guy comes in 4 weeks!!! I can't believe he's almost here! Can't wait. Lots to do. So...hopefully soon I will blog it up.
