{ "OH NO!" }

I was running some errands today. In between appointments, I decided to take Peyton into the gas station with me and get a drink. Mmmmm....I was so excited to get me an ice cold fountain drink. It's been awhile.

Well as I was standing there filling up my cup, I noticed some man probably in his early 40's standing really close to me. For sure invading the personal bubble. I thought it a little odd, looked at him, smiled and turned back around though. All of a sudden, I get a whiff of something awful. Then I hear the man say, "OH NO!" I turn around (man still standing super close) and I see he has poop ALL over his leg and shoe. I'm like, "Oh gross. You stepped in dog pooh!" And start checking to see if I had stepped in it too.

Then I look down by my feet and see a MASSIVE pile of poop! HUMAN POOP! It was definitely not dog poop. The man had literally crapped his pants as he was standing inches away from me. And with the amount of poop on the ground, there is NO WAY he was wearing underwear! SO GROSS!!!!! He continues to say, "OH NO! OH NO!" and then begins shaking his leg (he was wearing shorts) that has poop all over it trying to get it off. I am dying. Saying, "Oh gross. Please don't shake it. Please." as poop is flying everywhere!

The smell has quadrupled by now and me being pregnant, start to get the "I'm gonna puke feeling." Oh great. All we need now is a pile of puke next to the huge pile of poop! I am trying so hard. Don't puke. Don't puke. I had the loudest dry heaves you've ever heard (louder than you mom) and the puke starts to come. It's coming up my throat. Don't puke. Don't puke. Peyton starts crying, "Mommy. What is it? What is it Mama?" I'm yelling, "Don't move Peyton" in between my dry heaving.

As this is taking place, the man (who I have definitely realized by now is a little bit slow) finally gets out of my personal bubble (although he left his poop in the bubble) is running around the whole store, shaking his poop leg all over!!! Then he grabs napkins and tries to start picking up his massive piles of poop and put it in the garbage can. While at the same time smearing it everywhere.

It was quite the experience. I was so proud that I kept my puke down. The man finally left the store (after the workers were yelling at him saying, "Get out! Don't come back! You can't keep doing this." I went to buy my stuff and the worker said, "I am SO sorry. Just take it all. Don't even worry about paying." Apparently this wasn't the first time it had happened :). Quite the experience. I felt so bad for the guy but also SO bad for the poor workers that now had poop all over their entire store. I said to them. "Don't be sorry. I'm sorry for you! I'm not the one that has to clean it up and stay in this smelly place!"

So note to self. If you ever notice a strange man standing super close to you. Don't just let him because you feel bad about saying something. You never know when you'll get pooped on again! I think I'll try a new gas station next time. For some strange reason, my Diet Dr. Pepper just didn't quite taste the same.

"Whoever said money can't buy happiness SIMPLY DIDN'T KNOW WHERE TO SHOP"

(My mom sent me a card one time with this quote. It is my favorite!)

Hi my name is Heather and I'm a shopaholic!
I have a serious deal shopping addiction!

Seriously, it hit me today. I've got problems. Do they have some type of rehab for this? I can't pass up a great deal! And the worst problem is that I seem to ALWAYS find them!

It has gotten even worse now that I've moved to San Antonio. They have several of the same store. I can't just go to one of the stores because then it drives me madd wondering if one of the other stores had something different and/or more/better than the one I went to. I cannot rest at ease. So what do I do? Oh, I go around the whole town hitting all 3-5 other (Targets, Gaps, Old Navy's etc) just to make sure that I got ALL the best deals possible! And then I'm on a shopping high the rest of the day. It's bad. I need help.

And it also doesn't help that I have a wonderful husband who NEVER gets mad at me and humors me while I pull out all my purchases and tell him how much I got things for (and how much they would have been full price). Poor guy. He's the best. He wishes my sisters were here to humor me instead so he doesn't have to every time. My sister and I are constantly taking pictures on our phones and sending them to each other with our latest bargain. I love it.

But seriously...who can pass up a great deal? The other day, I got 13 clothing items at Old Navy for 3.98! Seriously! Am I just supposed to walk away from that? And the 75% clearance sales at Target? How do you say no? I'm just saying... Really, I am saving money right?

So...there you have it. I confessed. The first sign of overcoming an addiction is admitting you have one right? So I'm on my way to recovery. Until the next big sale...

{ PEYTON'S CAPTURED MOMENTS }

August 2010
• Famous phrases:
“Can’t do it!”
“I wanna hold you.” (means I want you to hold me)
“I wanna hold her.” (talking about the baby)
“Lil bit Mama? Lil bit?” (asking to put lip gloss on.)
"Owie. Kiss it mama?" (a kiss makes anything better in her eyes)

• I took Peyton for her 2 yr. check up. Hallie had warned her that she might have to get a shot but to be a big girl. Well, the doctor looked at her charts and said, “Well Peyton, it looks like you don’t need any shots today.” Peyton looked at me, starts bawling, and yelling, “I want a shot! I want a shot!” I kept telling her how they don’t feel good, etc, etc. But she wasn’t giving up. The doctor finally said, “I’ve never had a kid that wanted a shot so bad. We could prick her finger and test her for anemia even though I’m pretty sure she’s not.” Ha ha. I said it was okay, and the whole way out of the doctor’s office and into the car she was crying, “I want a shot! I want a shot!” silly girl.

• Her 2 year measurements:
Height: 2ft. 10 inches (50th percentile)
Weight: 25.5 pounds (25th percentile)

• Whenever Hallie and Peyton are going to bed they insist on having water by their beds. Every night Peyton says, “SO cold water!”. If I say, “okay, I’ll go get you some water.” She reminds me, “SO cold water.” When I bring it to her, she asks me, “SO cold water mommy?” “Yes, you silly girl.”

September 2010
• It didn’t take long for the terrible two’s to begin! The sassiness has always been present, but it has kicked into full gear this month. She loves to say sternly, “NO Mama! NO!” if I ever tell her something. She is hitting me, pulling Hallie’s hair, throwing major screaming tantrums, etc. Fun times. She does have lots of sweetness about her too.

• Randomly she’ll say. “Love you mommy. Moon (or stars, planets) back.” (to the moon and back)

• So good with her manners. Always says, “shank ew” and “pees”

• We found out this month that we are having a BOY! Peyton has been so cute about it. She is constantly patting my tummy, kissing it, hugging it and saying, “Boy! Hi baby Boy! Love ew. Moon back. Night night.”

• Peyton has really taken off in remembering people’s names. I am so surprised when I will mention a friend or someone coming over. She will then name off every single person in their family and ask if they are coming too. It’s so funny. She will hear a name one time and remember it.

• You know that Aaron is working a ton when the following conversation takes place.
ME:“Are you excited for Grandma and Grandpa and everyone to come in 5 more days?”
PEYTON: “Dustin comin?” ME: “no he has to work.” PEYTON: “Kate comin?” ME: “YES!” Peyton: “Dustin comin?” (continues to ask about all her cousins, aunts, uncles, and Dustin a few more times). Then she says, “Daddy comin?”

• Peyton loves to take our dish rags, put them on her face and run around the house saying, “I a mister!” As she was doing this, I was trying to get it away from her telling her how gross that was. I got it away and said, “no more Peyton. Okay?” She looks at me and says, “no mama, I’m fine.” I said, “okay?” more sternly. And she just kept saying, “I’m fine mama. I’m fine.”

{ HALLIE'S CAPTURED SAYINGS }

August 2010
• “I’m a petinarian.” (veterinarian is what she means). She uses this word instead.

• “Mom, how do boogers get up?”

• While we were in UT, we drove past UVU. I said, “Hallie, that’s where Daddy and I met each other.”
She was quiet for a minute and said, “Oh..so that’s where I can find someone to marry?” (she’s been really worried about who she’s going to marry.)
A couple days later, we drove by it again on our way to Grandma’s and Aaron said the same thing to her. She said, “Yea, I was thinkin. Like how did you find mommy? Like WHERE did you meet her? Was it like at recess?”

• While making a sand castle, “mom know what I’m doin? I’m decorating! Like doing the walls..the sprinkling…”

• “You’re the greatest mom ever.” (says this a lot at times that I need it the most)

September 2010
• As I was brushing Hallie’s teeth I noticed her staring at my face really funny. I asked her what was wrong. She points to my face and says, “you have like..some little scratches on your face. Are you okay?” (oh don’t worry, just my wrinkles she’s talking about! Nothing like an honest 4 yr. old to make you feel old!)

• Hallie was jumping on our couch and Aaron had already asked her to stop a few times. Finally he said pretty sternly, “Hallie! Who’s couches do you think these are?” She quickly sits down and says in the sweetest voice like she feels so bad, “Heavenly Father’s. Sorry.”

• I was filling her water cup up at McDonalds. “They changed their water. I still like it, but they kinda changed the flavor.”

• “There’s 2 squatters in my mailbox!!!” (she meant wasps). She is still calling them squatters.

• We drove by a dead stinky skunk in the road. Hallie says, “I wish we could catch a skunk so I could kill it. I would get a gun and shoot it!” (a little surprised to hear these words come out of her mouth).

• Whenever Hallie and Peyton are going to bed they insist on having water by their beds. Every night Hallie says, “NICE cold water!”. If I say, “Okay, I’ll go get you some water.” She reminds me, “NICE cold water.” When I bring it to her, she asks me, “is it NICE cold water mommy? “ Yes, you silly girl.”

• Hallie started preschool this month! I went to pick her up on her first day and noticed she had blue paint all over her dress. I didn't say anything about it but was sorta dying inside. She must know me too well because as soon as I saw her and said, "Hi Hallie! How was it?" She said, "Don't worry Mom. It'll come out. I asked the teacher." ha ha.

• We were driving to preschool and I said, "Oh, we forgot to say our prayers this morning." She quickly piped in, "we don't need to! I already LOVE preschool!" I said, "Well we still say our prayers every morning silly." And she said, "Okay, but DON'T ask me to have fun at preschool because I know I already will! Just ask for me to get there safely!"

• I went to wake Hallie up the other morning to get ready and I heard her outside her door just waking up. She said to herself, "Yay! It's preschool day!" Then as she was climbing down her ladder she said, "a nice new day!"

• “Mom, you’re a genie us” (genius)

• “We found out we were having a BOY this month. Hallie was hoping for another girl (she’s in a “I don’t like boys” stage). Well I told her we were having a boy and she stuck that pouty lip out and made quit a sad face. Then she quickly smiled and said, “I’ll still love it mom! Don’t worry.”

• Likes to create her own words. “ubster” is her newest one. “It’s going to be ubster cool!” And "furzy". "That means fuzzy mom."

• “We did that yesternight!” (always says this instead of last night)

I've been trying to safe money and be a little more careful lately. Which means, I shouldn't have gone to Target. I bought a few too many things (some for the girls) and said later that night "I need to stop spending money." Hallie said, "Yea, I was gonna remind you. I thought about it. But I decided not to."

{ MISCHIEVOUS LITTLE GIRL }

Doesn't this face have mischief written all over it? Lately, I seriously feel like I can't leave her alone for 5 seconds in our house without her getting into some type of mischief. I swear as soon as she thinks I'm not looking her thought process is, "okay, mom turned her back. What can I do? What can I do? Hurry think of something."

The following pics are just one small example of what I'm talking about. I went to brush my teeth in my room while the girls were playing. She opened the pantry, scoot a chair close, climbed up, grabbed the syrup off the high shelf and went to town. I found her filling the last puddle on my shoe. She just looked at me with a great sense of accomplishment (of course with her eyes closed. That way I can't see her right?) .

The next day I went out to the garage to get some boxes. I found her standing on our white and black ottoman with a bottle of honey in hand tipped upside down, ready to go to town. Luckily, I caught her in time.

She is constantly sneaking snacks and hiding in crazy places to eat them. sneaking in my room to pour every hair product she can think of to "do hair pretty". ripping a bazillion wipes out of the case because she is "cleaning" or "wiping baby's bum". ripping her diapers off. etc, etc. The list could go on.

from my phone
 Aaron says "you need to Peyton proof the house." He obviously isn't home with her all day. Trust me, it is proofed. I do try.

 (the day after I put this lock on the door handle to the pantry door. I watched her do this):

No matter what I do, she will find a way or find something else to do.She for sure keeps me on my toes! I love my little mischievous Peyton. Along with her mischief also comes alot of funny times, and sweetness too.

 P.S. She is usually a pretty well mannered girl everywhere else. I think she just likes to get a reaction out of me. It's become a little game for her.
And P.S.S. Yes, I do discipline her if you are wondering.

{ FIRST SOCCER GAME }

Hallie started soccer! It's pretty funny to see the difference between a girl and a boy when it comes to things like this (at least in our family). All she cared about was that she could have pink shin guards to match her pink and blue ball. ha ha. She's been really excited to start. It is quite comical to watch 4 yr olds playing a game of soccer. But she loves it. When I asked her what she liked best she said, "All of it! I loved it all!"

Before the game they were trying to decide on a team name. I was so surprised when Hallie raised her hand with a suggestion. She thought of the Explorers. (hmm..wonder what show that came from. Dora's soccer game maybe?!). Well, she was outnumbered with votes. So...go CATS! (although, I loved another little girls suggest as the Humans! ha ha. reminds me of Community.)

P.S. Yes, I did buy Hallie some soccer socks after the game :).

She thought it was so cool that she is #1.

{ Hallie's First Days of Preschool }

My little Hallie started Preschool! I can't believe she's that old! Her first day was great. She had been so excited in anticipation for this day. She talked about it non-stop. She couldn't wait to wear the new dress Grandma Robin and Grandpa Danny let her pick out. She planned the shoes, the bow, the bracelet...all the works. It was cute to see her so excited. We woke up to her favorite orange rolls and quickly got ready to rush out the door. It was pouring rain ALL day! So not the best pics, because we were trying to stay dry and my camera was about to die. But here she is in all her glory.
She had talked it up so much and then as we were driving to school, I could tell her nerves were starting to set in. She is always thinking way ahead and I could tell her mind was beginning to think about way too much and definitely more than a little 4 yr old should. She kept saying, "my tummy isn't feeling good." Poor thing. Well we got there. She was shy, a little nervous, but quickly found her friend and they were off to play in the Art Studio. She didn't even look back to say so much as "bye mom". Peyton was a little disappointed that she couldn't stay. She kept trying to push me out the door to leave her there :).

Well, yes, I was "that mom" that totally cried after Peyton and I got in the car! ha ha. I didn't think I would. She is just my little buddy that goes with me everywhere. It was so weird to just leave her there. I quickly laughed at myself and me and Peyton had a good time to ourselves. I think that this will be so good for her and I to have some more one-on-one time.

Arriving at school after getting dumped on

She LOVED it! I went to pick her up and noticed she had blue paint all over her dress. I didn't say anything about it but was sorta dying inside. She must know me too well because as soon as I saw her and said, "Hi Hallie! How was it?" She said, "Don't worry Mom. It'll come out. I asked the teacher." ha ha.

Her next preschool day we were driving to school and I said, "oh, we forgot to say our prayers this morning." She quickly piped in, "we don't need to! I already LOVE preschool!" I said, "well we still say our prayers every morning silly." And she said, "okay, but DON'T ask me to have fun at preschool because I know I already will! Just ask for me to get there safely!"

I also went to wake her up the other morning to get ready and I heard her outside her door just waking up. She said to herself, "Yay! It's preschool day!" Then as she was climbing down her ladder she said, "a nice new day!" I love this little girl. She is so sweet. I'm so glad that she loves preschool so much.
sporting her other outfit from Grandma and Grandpa. And her Twinkle Toes :). She saw these and wanted them so bad! She said, "mom, I will look so pretty and fancy if I wear these."

September 21, 2010

I know I am behind on my blogging still but I had to share the exciting news! I had an ultrasound yesterday and found out...

We are super excited! I thought all along that it was a boy and I think everyone but Hallie and my sister Chelsey thought it too. I had told Aaron before the appt. I felt like I was just going to confirm that it was a boy. But then got a little nervous that maybe I was wrong since I seemed so sure :). Everything looks great with the baby which is even better news. I'm actually measuring 6 days bigger but they won't move the due date up unless it's 7 :(.  We are so excited to bring a little boy into our family. (a little nervous too. I'm not going to lie. Not quite sure how to do a boy.)

It's been even more fun that my family, minus my brothers are here in town! Besides Hallie puking and getting sick (still hoping no one else gets it) we are having a blast! I will post more once they are gone. When I told Hallie what we were having she got a little pouty lip frown on her face. But then said, "I'll still love it Mom!" ha ha. What a cutie. Peyton is still begging and asking, "I wanna hold HER." and continues to talk to my belly and say, "boy! boy! love ew baby." Can't wait to meet the little cutie. Now if only we could decide on a name. Any ideas?!

Trip to the Beach

We thought we'd take advantage of one the last weekends Aaron will have off for a few months. So we headed to the beach! We went to Port Aransas which is about 2.5 hours away. It was a blast. The water was warm with great weather. The kids loved playing in the water! Last time we went Peyton would not touch the sand and screamed non stop. She was hesitant for a minute, but then she got used to it quick and loved it. It's so fun to live close enough to come here. We had a great day.

The sand castle makers. (this is the back of it)

Hallie and Anika had a blast burying each other. She kept saying, I'm getting sprinkled. She loved it.

I took this picture right before she was saying, "ahhh! I got a itch! help!"

Aaron had a near death experience. Okay not really, but I thought so. This was almost the last picture I would've ever taken of him. jk. We brought the kayak and Aaron thought he'd try it out in the ocean. Well all was fine and dandy until I I couldn't see him anymore. And then all of a sudden I see the kayak tipped over with no Aaron in sight. And the kayak just kept going farther and farther out! I was panicking. I know I'm ridiculous but seriously I had all these crazy thoughts going through my head like, "where will I move? what am I going to do with my life? am I responsible for all his student loans? etc. etc." I was freaking. Well...had I remembered he had on a life jacket I wouldn't have been worried. He made it back in and said that he was never worried. The waves were just too choppy and it tipped him. I guess I am my mother's daughter with all the worrying I was doing.

Peyton has a definite crush. Brenan. They are so cute together. She is always talking about him and when they get together they are just two little giddy kiddos having a blast. Brittanie put Brenan in the pack n' play with some blankets over it to give him a nap. I looked over to find the following pics. Sorry Brittanie. Peyton was not having that idea. Brenan take a nap? When she could be playing with him? They are so cute.

Guess I should note also that she kept pulling her bottoms down so her little bum was hanging out :).

On our way home, we stopped by the ferry to ride the kayak around. We saw lots of dolphins! It was so cool. I had my camera in the car so I didn't get any pictures. We all had a good time riding around there.

Silly Hallie

And my cute little Peyton...

September 11, 2010

I am quite behind on the blogging. I've been making my blog into a book through blurb and that has consumed most of my time. It's so fun to be able to turn these into our little family journals and go back and read things. My camera has been dead for awhile and I lost my charger. But...I finally have a new one so I will get back into the blogging world. Here's a few posts. More to come.
